In the fall of 1964, the first senior class in the history of Evansville Day School was busy making the most of its time at EDS. In its debut edition, The Landmark yearbook chronicled a year that would prove to be notable in several ways: a new headmaster joined EDS; a fire required temporary relocation of classes and of course, preparations for the first senior graduation exercises.

Forty years and hundreds of Day School graduates later, EDS will celebrate this historic year with an All School Reunion Weekend Sept. 16-17, 2005.

“We want this to be a truly inclusive, all-school celebration,” says Stacy Epperson Stevens ’81, president of the EDS Alumni Association. “This reunion will include anyone who attended EDS, as well as former parents and former faculty and trustees,” she said

A reunion committee is already at work on the big weekend. Along with Stevens, leading the planning are Reunion Chair Amy Young Nussmeier ’85 and Friends of EDS Reunion Committee Chair Laura Pinnick. “We have a fantastic, enthusiastic steering committee, but we want as many people as possible to contribute their ideas and energy,” Nussmeier said.

“We welcome anyone who ever was affiliated with EDS to participate,” Nussmeier said. “This will be a lot of fun!”
